Men - a great stocking filler for Christmas! A fantastic product that the ladies at home or in the office will love! With loads of space to write important dates on etc, they are large format 300mm square, or if you're old school 12" x 12". Here's a little teaser - you will need to buy the calendar to see the rest!

A massive 'well done' to Leon Samsworth, who was eventually pursauded to take part by his girlfirend Katy Gannon to get involved. It was great seeing Leon receive his award, when the calendar was launched on Saturday night at Waddesdon village hall. Leon has just launched his personal training business LRS Personal Training , so the timing certainly can't be better for him.

Baby Arabella is here!

A few weeks ago Ash and Pascale came in for a pregnancy shoot. It was a lovely shoot, with some beautiful and striking images. Only a couple of weeks later and a few days early baby Arabella arrived!
With Arabella only a few days old Ash and Pascale brought her back into the studio. I wanted to photograph her while she still had a newborn look, with Ash's tattoos (even more than last time) I knew I could capture some more stunning and unusual images.
After a quick cuddle....with the baby!! we undressed her and got to work. As with any shoot involving young children you have to be patient, take lots of time cuddle them, feed them and mop up the occaisional accident....especially when you are brave enough to take the nappy off!!
I really wanted to get some shots of her asleep in Ash's arms, again things don't always go to plan! After lots of cuddles and rocking from Mum and Dad she dozed off!

Congratulations Pascale And Ash....She's beautiful!
With Fathers Day this weekend it seems like a good time to share these with everyone.

Out Of The Blue - wider recognition at last

Out Of The Blue have been regular supporters of Helen & Douglas House Childrens Hospice in Oxford & we have covered their appearance @ Childish Things, (the comedy fundraiser for the hospice) many times.

It was great to have them appear as a surprise for my wife's 40th birthday party last June & they certainly put on quite a show, gaining many new fans.

We have often said they should be on Britains Got Talent & many of Rach's party guests commented the same, so it was exciting to actually see them get into the auditions for this year's show. They had the audience on their feet with their acapella version of Lady GaGa's Poker Face & Justin Timerlake's Sexy Back - brilliantly original & quite a surprise to the judges.

So it was quite a surprise to get a call from them asking if we could cover their live show @ Oxford's New Theatre on Bank Holiday Monday 30th May, midway through the Britains Got Talent live shows. I had actually asked if they could come & perform @ the Lion Live fundraiser I was organising until I realised that they were already pre-occupied!!

Fortunately my friend & photographer Terry Lee was able to cover the event for All People Photography - here are some of the images from the show.

Unfortunately, despite a great performance in the semi-finals with Jump For My Love by the Pointer Sisters, they didn't make it through to the final. They happened to be in the line-up for what was probably the best semi-final. I think we will be seeing more from OOTB & it is a pleasure to work with them.

Pascale & Ash...Baby bump & Tattoos

Thursday, 5th May 2011

Pascale & Ash ... Baby bump & Tattoos!!

Doing a shoot for family and friends is always a lovely experience, especially at a special time in their lives. Ash is a family friend that I have known since he was a small boy!! With their first baby due at the end of May, Ash and Pascale were keen celebrate the pregnancy with some photographs. Pregnancy shoots are always amazing to do, it is such a unique time in your life that also passes so quickly (even if it doesn't feel like it at the time)

As a mother of two myself, I believe that a baby bump is something to be proud of!!

When they arrived at the studio, Pascale was excited but understandably quite nervous. We talked through some ideas and found some suitably relaxing music. Photoshoots can be a little un-nerving for most of us, but are especially so when you are being asked to expose more flesh than usual!
We kept it simple with dark clothing and a black background, starting with soft lighting.

Over the last couple of years Ash has been adding to the amazing artwork on both of his arms. In all of our shots his tattoos became as much of a feature as Pascale's bump. I also used more dramatic lighting during the shoot to add to the mood and emphasise those features.

Pascale and Ash soon began to relax and joke with each other, resulting in some lovely intimate images.
For me, the best shots are those where your subjects have a connection with each other rather than always looking straight down my lens.
Pascale was very happy with her images after initially feeling a bit self-concious, saying "I look better than I thought I would!"

I think they look stunning and can't wait to photograph the baby in the next few weeks!

If you are pregnant or know anyone who is, celebrate this special time in your life with a lovely set of images. At All people Photography we will discuss ideas with you and put you at ease with a choice of female or male photographer.
I hope you like these images and thanks to Pascale and Ash for allowing us to share them.

Enercon Commercial shoot

The great thing about what we do is that no two days are ever the same. One day we might be covering a wedding, the next it might be a portrait shoot or a commercial shoot.

One of our commercial clients is Enercon Industries UK, based on Raban's Lane Industrial Estate in Aylesbury. Never heard of them? Well, whenever you open a bottle of milk, a bottle of Heinz Tomato Sauce, a jar of Nescafe coffee or a tube of Hellmans Mayonnaise, Enercon are responsible for that little piece of foil that keeps your product fresh until you open it!

Enercon is the global leader in what they do, producing foil sealing solutions for a wide range of products & count Nescafe, Heinz, Hellmans, Cadburys & Tesco's amongst their client base.

Richard Bull, the CEO at Aylesbury & his team make my job easy & will do all they can to help me get the images that I need, as well as keeping me topped up with endless cups of coffee! I always have to shoot on location due to the size & nature of the machinery I need to photograph.

The particular piece of equipment responsible is an induction sealer, coming in many shapes & sizes for different requirements. It is invariably difficult to light for photography because of it's many shaped metal surfaces, so always presents quite a challenge. Still, I love a challenge!

So, next time you peel off that little piece of foil from you milk bottle, remember that it's a local company responsible!

If you need any commercial photography, give
All People Photography a call & talk to Pete or Michelle about your requirements.

Jo's work experience

One of the basic principles of life is that if you have learnt anything, pass it on if you can. So, once a year we take on a year 10 school student for work experience, for only a week.

Trying to find time to fit it in is often a challenge, so we have found it best to almost postpone our schedule as best as possible, so that we can ensure that the week spent with us has value & meaning for the student & that they leave, having learnt & understood more about the art of photography.

So when friends Mark & Jenny Rogers asked if their daughter Jo could do work experience at All People Photography I was more than happy to agree. I always 'interview' the candidates, as I want to see that coming to the studio isn't just an option for them, but that they have a genuine interest in photography & also a good eye. You can never teach the ability to 'see' an image, you either have it or you don't.

Jo attends The Grange School in Aylesbury & she was fortunate - I usually only take students from our local school in Waddesdon, but another friends daughter (who shall remain nameless!) cancelled, so it worked in Jo's favour. One of the benefits of Facebook is people will post their own images & I had already seen some of Jo's images. It was clear she had the eye for framing & worked depth of field very well.

During her week with us last week, Jo learnt that there are many skills required to be a good photographer, not least to be able to communicate effectively with your subject & give them direction - something that doesn't come quite so naturally!

We always get our students to invite a model in, so they can control a shoot & work on posing etc, whilst also having something physical to take away & show their teachers & family. I think you'll see from these images that Jo has a great eye & also has a budding model in her brother Matty. Well done Jo, you have been a pleasure to have around!

Nix Fashion Shoot!

I was first introduced to Nix when my neice Rianna got engaged to her brother Nigel (they have subsequently married!). Nix was engaging, funny & was very honest & the one thing you couldn't ignore was her blue hair that she had at the time!! She certainly stood out from the crowd & we got on well.

I have been wanting to do more personal projects for a while - challenge my creative abilities without the worry of the demands/expectations of a fee paying client. I also wanted to create some fresh fashion portraits for the studio. Seeing Nix's many wallposts & self portraits on Facebook, I knew Nix wasn't camera shy & in fact quite the opposite! She was the perfect choice for me - the hardest thing with both our busy schedules was getting Nix into the studio!

After many chats & texts, we agreed on what we were aiming for, but keeping it flexible. I had also shopped for backgrounds & body gems etc, to create certain looks.

The day finally arrived last Thursday & with the help of Michelle, Zoe from Zen Hair in Thame & Jo who was at the studio on work experience, we created the following images. It was great for Nix to have her sister Nat here too & it was a great studio session with input from everyone.

Nix was very photogenic as I think you will agree. The only downside was there just wasn't enough time in the day to get all the shots done we wanted, so we'll have to bring her back to the studio again.
